“Ruth Blake’s music seems to emanate from a waking dream.
Her compositions are made of shades of love, sweetness and strength”
David Mboussou

About Ruth Blake
Ruth Blake’s music is a dance of paradoxical forces – bitter within sweet, darkness within light, strength within fragility, mother within child.
Ruth has played festivals including Shambala, Into the Wild and the Green Gathering, and was hailed as “destined for great things” by Drowned in Sound at Cambridge Folk Festival. She dedicates her life to Truth, knowing that Truth is as shifting as the tides; fractal, kaleidoscopic, ungraspable.
As a contemporary medicine woman resurrecting the lost mystery traditions of the Celtic Isles, Ruth holds ceremonial concerts that elicit transcendental experiences. With a rare potency and exquisite tenderness, she invites her listeners through myth and magic deep into the heart of their humanity, across the ocean of the tiny heart space and onto the farther shore.
